Adding a Placeholder contact for Sertifi for Salesforce

If you happen to have process builder, triggers, workflows, validation rules, or sharing rules set on the standard Contact object, you may run into issues with our out-of-box sending wizard

Search for a contact with the last name Sertifi Placeholder. If you can't find it, we recommend manually creating a Sertifi Placeholder Contact that is accessible to all users within your org that will be using Sertifi for Salesforce.

Adding a placeholder contact in Sertifi Classic

To add a placeholder contact in Sertifi Classic:

  1. Navigate to the Contacts tab.
  2. Click New or New Contact. If you don't see these options, ensure that you have create, read, and edit rights on the Contact object.
  3. Enter the following:
    • Last Name - Sertifi Placeholder
    • Email - [email protected]
    • Account - Choose a test account or create one.
  4. Complete all other required fields on the record.

Adding a placeholder contact in Sertifi Lightning

To create a placeholder contact in Salesforce Lightning:

  1. Navigate to the Contacts tab.
  2. Click New on the top right-hand side of the Contacts panel. If you don't see this option, ensure that you have create, read, and edit rights on the Contact object.
  3. Enter the following information:
    • Last Name - Sertifi Placeholder
    • Email - [email protected]
    • Account - Choose a test account or create one.
  4. Complete all other required fields on the record.
